Getting started

    New to Sona8? Start here.

A few first steps take you from signing in to launching your first belief audit.

Sign in and pick your organization

Log in, then choose your organization from the switcher in the sidebar if you belong to more than one. Everything you see — audits, people, results — is scoped to the selected organization.

    What you can access

You only see the areas your access allows. If a screen shows an “Access restricted” message, or something you need is missing, contact your Sona8 partner to get access.

    Your team

Need a colleague added, or someone's access changed? Contact your Sona8 partner. Each person only sees the areas their access allows.

    Your first 15 minutes

    1. 1Set your organization details and timezone in Settings.
    2. 2Add employees or import a roster (People).
    3. 3Build any pre/post surveys you want to attach (optional).
    4. 4Configure an AI interviewer agent and a voice.
    5. 5Create a belief audit and choose its audience.
    6. 6Invite participants and watch progress.
    7. 7Review deep dives, analysis, and generate a report.

    Product

What Sona8 does, at a glance.

Set up the audit, collect conversations, combine survey context, and turn the signal into action. Each capability below has its own guide further down the page.

    Belief audits

Create a focused employee voice campaign with audience rules, surveys, an interview agent, and invitation timing.

Launchable audit setup and progress tracking.

    AI interviews

Employees join a guided voice conversation that adapts to the audit context and captures richer qualitative signal.

Transcript, summary, and structured signals for each completed conversation.

    Agents and voices

Shape the AI interviewer with prompt behavior, language, and voice choices that match the organization.

A consistent interview experience for future participants.

    Surveys

Add structured questions before or after interviews so qualitative conversations can be analyzed with survey data.

Reusable survey forms and exportable responses.

    Results and reports

Review interview deep dives, survey analysis, AI implications, and generated leadership reports in one workflow.

Decision-ready themes, risks, opportunities, and reports.

    People and audience

Maintain employees and units so each audit reaches the right participants and analysis can be segmented cleanly.

    Cleaner targeting, segmentation, and follow-up.

    People & audience

Bring in your people, then target the right audience.

Every audit needs an audience, so employees come first. Add them manually or import a roster, organize them, and segment who takes part.

    Add employees

Add people one at a time or in bulk. Each employee needs an email and name; department, job title, seniority, phone, and unit memberships are optional but power segmentation.

    Import a roster (CSV)

Upload a spreadsheet to create or update many employees at once, mapping columns to Sona8 fields. Re-importing updates existing people (matched by email) rather than duplicating them.

    Units and departments

Group employees into departments and units. Segments carry through to analysis and reports, so leaders can compare parts of the organization.

    Choose the audience

Each audit's Audience step is an explicit list of who takes part; attribute, department, and unit filters help you find the right people to add rather than defining the audience themselves. Only people in the audience receive invites, so build it before launching.

    Surveys & AI interviewer

Build the survey and the interviewer.

These are the building blocks an audit assembles: optional structured surveys and the AI agent (and voice) that runs the conversation.

    Build a survey

    • Question types: single/multiple choice, rating, NPS, slider, yes/no, an agree emoji scale, and short/long free text.
    • Group questions into subsections and preview the participant experience live before saving.
    • Surveys move through draft → active → archived; duplicate one or start from a template.
    • Attach a survey as a pre- or post-interview step on an audit; responses surface in Survey analysis.

    AI interviewer (agents & voices)

    • Creating agents requires a voice API key for the app. If it isn't set up yet, contact your Sona8 partner.
    • Configure an agent's prompt behavior, interview language, and model/voice options, then deploy so it is live for interviews.
    • Deployed agents show a synced/offline status; you can also import an existing agent by ID.
    • Preview, add, or clone voices from the voice library, filtering by language, type, gender, and age. An agent is required to launch an audit.

    Belief audits

    Assemble and launch an audit.

A belief audit is a focused employee-voice campaign. The editor is a five-step wizard — you can save at any step.

    1. 1

      Basic info

Name the audit, pick the AI interviewer agent and its privacy level, set an optional start date and deadline, enable recurring cycles, and choose whether it is callable by phone.

    2. 2

      Audience

Choose which employees take part; attribute and unit filters help you find them quickly.

    3. 3

      Surveys

      Optionally attach a pre-interview and/or post-interview survey.

    4. 4

      Communication

Choose the invitation email and template, when invites send (on save, on activation, or manual), and configure automated reminders with audience rules and timing.

    5. 5

      Appearance

Set the interview language, the duration shown to participants, your company name, and the intro text on the interview welcome screen.

    Recurring audits & cycles

Repeat an audit on a schedule. Each run is a “cycle”, so you can track how the same audience responds over time.

    Automated reminders

Send follow-ups to people who have not started or finished, timed relative to the start date or deadline, using your chosen template.

    Phone-callable audits

Let participants reach the interview by phone in addition to the web link — useful for frontline or deskless employees.

    Status lifecycle

Audits move draft → scheduled → active → completed. You can edit and save changes to an active or scheduled audit from any step without changing its status.

    Privacy & visibility

Decide what is visible, and to whom.

Every audit has a privacy level that determines what your team can see and what participants are told. If a privacy level you need isn't available, contact your Sona8 partner.

    Full transcript

The full transcript and the completed form — including who filled it out — are available to a selected group of admins and analysts.

    Anonymised summary

The transcript is shown only as an anonymised summary. Form answers are shown in full, but the participant's name is not attached.

    Private

Form answers are only visible in aggregate, and the transcript is used only to generate automated reports — never shown individually.

Sharing personalised data with connected systems

An optional “share personalised data with the company” override can raise what leaves the platform to a connected system — but only when the connection itself permits it. The chosen privacy level also governs what appears in Interview deep dives and what is included in exports, so participants’ stated expectations are honored end to end.

    Invite & track

Get people in, and follow participation.

Reach participants by email, a shareable link, or phone, then watch progress and nudge non-responders with reminders.

    Invitation email

Send branded invites using an email template. Delivery status shows as pending, queued, or sent per participant.

    Shareable link

Copy a per-participant interview link and distribute it through your own channels when email is not ideal.

    Phone

For phone-callable audits, participants can complete the interview by calling in.

    Track participation

The progress view shows delivery status, per-person interview tags (completed, partial, spam), and pre/post survey completion, plus manual sends and reminder counts.

    Results & reports

    Turn conversations into decisions.

Four tools take you from an individual session all the way to a leadership-ready report.

    Interview deep dives

Open any session for its transcript and summary. What is shown respects the audit's privacy level.

    Survey analysis

Build an analysis over survey responses, read the charts, and export the data.

    Implications

See risks versus opportunities as measures and scores with supporting quotes, filter by audit, department, or date, and generate a leadership report with a focus prompt.

    Reports library

Find, filter, and download generated reports — per-audit or across audits, by period.

    Connections & API

Connect Sona8 to the systems teams already use.

Data partners can import people and units, then export survey assignments and responses through scoped API tokens you create yourself.

    Set up a connection (self-service)

Connections and tokens are created by your team in the dashboard — you do not need to request them from Sona8.

    1. 1Open Settings → Connections. If you don't see it, contact your Sona8 partner to enable it for your organization.
    2. 2Create a connection to the external system you want to sync with.
    3. 3Generate a scoped API token — choose import and/or export scopes, and optionally restrict it by IP range or expiry.
    4. 4Copy the token when it is shown — the raw value is displayed only once.
    5. 5Use the request log to monitor calls, and revoke a token any time.

    Authentication

API calls use the organization-scoped bearer token you generated in Settings → Connections. Tokens carry import and export scopes and may be IP-restricted or time-limited.
